World Economic Forum

The World Econimic Forum just wrapped up in Switzerland. In a suprisingly conversational tone comes this report from Laurie Garret, who never intended for the email to be read by the general public. LawMeme has a great summary of her email and the drama revolving around her personal email being made so public.

It’s Only Rock and Roll

Ever wonder what those hot bands make? Here is an industry case study. Makes you wonder where all that money is really going and why the Recording Industry Association of America keeps complaining that they are losing profits. At least the artists get groupies…

Welcome to the Republic of Cascadia

The Republic of Cascadia is a seperatist movement attempting to secede from western Canada and northwest America. Already within their country there is a puppet aristocratic government, an eco-paramilitary group and plenty of information about the area.

Trek Fans Revolted and Revolt

Fans of Star Trek have been complaining for years that since Gene Roddenberry died and Rick Berman took over the show has been in steady and painful decline.

A group of fans have set up a website that will attempt to rally the Trek troops to revolt against Berman and get Paramount on their side. Quickly reading through the site I failed to see who they would like to take over, but it’s an interesting idea. Power to the people…?

Your Favorite Neighbor

Ever wonder what happened to Mr Rogers? Turns out that he died this morning from stomach cancer. This will certainly put an end to Martian’s claims that he died in a drunken boating accident.

“If only you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.” -Mister Rogers.

Iran Sues US for Supporting Iraq

Iran’s suit against the United States is finally being heard in the International Court of Justice. It alleges that by supporting Iraq in the Iran/Iraq qar of the 1980s the US violated a 1955 treaty of plitical and economic friendship. The US is essentially countersuing as Iran attacked US commercial ships. Rather pathetic that even then Saddam was a pain in the arse.

EIN REICH, EIN VOLK, EIN FRANK WITH MUSTARD AND SAUERKRAUT!

The idiots at PETA have done it again. This time they are comaparing the state of animals to that of Holocaust victims. How would you like PETA comparing the death of an entire branch of your family to animals? Disgusting. They aren’t winning any converts with this. I will refrain from writing an essay about their idiocy, even if they “mean well.”
