China’s Goal: the Moon

|link| I have felt for a long time that our future, humanity’s future, belongs in space. Say what you will about fixing the problems down here; all it would take is one itchy finger on the nuclear button or a small building sized chunk of rock from space and we could be gone. These aren’t necessarily immidiate theats, but they are possibilities. Beyond that this world will eventually run out of resources, or be consumed by our sun. As a species we will have no choice but to go into space and find other places to survive. There are many other reasons to go out there, as well.

Once upon a time America led the world in the cosmic adventure, with Russia nipping at our heels. Now China is in the race, and they are far more ambitious than we have been in over 20 years. Who controls space controls the future…
