Casshern

|link1| |link2| My Japanese isn’t good enough to really get all of what’s going on in this film, but it looks cool as hell. I wonder if it’ll ever show up over here? The first link is to the trailer on the film site, and the 2nd is to a shorter trailer on the Japanese Apple site. [Warning: all links in Japanese]

    fixin’ things…
i swapped out the original film link i had there with the trailer on the japanese apple site. that should let people get a more reliable look at things.

unfortunately, from what i understand, what is up on the japanese apple trailer site isn’t the full version of the video… once the original site is back up that’s the one i want to see!

it is based on the 1973 anime, with a synopsis of stories here if you want to brush up and get some background.

[...] Over a year ago on OOKEE.com I linked to the trailer for a Japanese movie called Casshern (official movie website here). A few weekends ago I was at Amoeba in the Haight and saw it on DVD and picked it up. My typical worry of reality not meeting up to expectation went into effect, but I have to say that even if only the effects were good I’d probably enjoy the film. [...]
