Protester or Not Protester

|link| For many of us (though perhaps not you) the Terri Schiavo thing is irritating and distracting and really not very important. We grumble and complain but we really aren’t motivated to do much about it. Apparently the gentleman in the picture did for us, though. Note the woman’s reaction. I wonder if the guy got a slap?

SciFi Channel Tries Audio Commentary

SciFi Channel is trying something new and completely awesome. They are distributing online the audio commentary for current episodes of Stargate: Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica. Go to these links, download the files, and play them when the new episodes show and you get the equivilent of the commentary track on many DVDs. This service is free and will hopefully catch on allowing them to bring it to other shows.

Two New OOKEE.com Sites

We’re pleased to announce two new sites to the OOKEE.com Network.

Skooz! is by our very own sometimes contributor, Skooz. What she’ll be writing about we just don’t know yet. So far it’s about teeth. Ouch.

The Podium is a look into the public school system by an anonymous author (so keep it to yourself if you’ve guessed it) in an unknown time frame, probably right now. We’ll assume the author is Teddy Rooseveldt until the picture changes.

We’re currently in negotiations to host Dongle Dog’s blog and hope to have news in that direction in the near future.

Underworld Evolution Info

|link| The new Underworld Evolution is in production in Vancouver. If you liked the first movie (which we reviewed) it sounds like this one will be a winner, too.

Name Voyager

|link| Though this is technically for baby names, the java is too cool to pass up. Type a name in, and see how popular it’s been over the last 100 years or so. Looks like Oswald is gone, but Oswaldo is gaining strength…. God alone knows why. Submitted by Zapski.

President Bush’s Head Fetish

|link| It’s said that if you delve deeply enough, everyone has a fetish of some sort. Apparently President Bush has a fetish for touching people’s heads. He especially likes men’s heads. Go figure.

The Walking Octopus

|link| Two species of octopus have been found that run on two tentacles across the ocean floor. The link has some video. Has anyone seen the Animal Planet’s The Future is Wild? They featured a creature called a squibbon, which is a hypothesized arboreal squid that swings from tree to tree.

Aquaman’s Blog

|link| Aquaman stopped by to let us know he has a blog. He seems angry alot of the time, which we like. Over the years he’s gotten the short end of the marketing stick even though his kingdom is far larger than all those other superheroes combined. Apparently he lost his hand recently. Since there aren’t any archives on the site I couldn’t find out what happened. Maybe he’ll post something about that again? Submitted by: Aquaman!
