How to Get a Geek (and Keep Him)

I didn’t realize there were people writing about how great people like me are to date. Cool!

Colbert Roasts the President

I’m not sure how Stephen Colbert got invited to speak at a public gathering that included President Bush. Bush is notoriously shy about the Press and allowing people with different views anywhere near him. Still, Colbert had the opportunity and laid out some truthiness. Part One, Part Two and Part Three.

UPDATE (2006.05.05): The video had been taken down from YouTube.com and is now up, apparently with consent, on Google Video.

Crazy Religious Nut Jobs

Holy crap there are some real jackasses out there. Hannity and Colmes or not, everyone will support their perspective with respect to this woman. Check it out. Doug apparently linked to a similiar reference here a while back, but as most news articles, it apparently isn’t up anymore. I’ve linked it just in case it’s only temporarily down.

Aethelred Eldridge Speaks

A professor at Ohio University, Aethelred Eldridge is one of those people you never forget. He always left very interesting pieces of art to be found around campus, inspiring an almost daily scavenger hunt. Very much a unique individual, you can experience him for yourself as he reads William Blake’s Milton.

Linux is a Cancer…?

I’m not sure if this is supposed to be real or a joke. Judging by the comments, visitors aren’t sure either. Basically it says that Linux is a terrorist software package because it A) comes from Europe B) is distributed for free and C) Steve Balmer of Microsoft says it’s a cancer. Linux might be a cancer, but Windows is the idiot who keeps getting venereal diseases so I think this guy gets the Idiot of the Day award.

Caprica

Not content with the ongoing series running currently, SciFi has decided that Battlestar Galactica needs a prequel. The story would deal with the origins of the Cylons, which could be interesting, but is unnecessary. Humanity made them, they rebelled, they have a plan. ‘Nuff said.

Anime on Demand

It was announce a couple days ago that Cartoon Network and VIZ Media (disclaimer: I work for VIZ) will be doing a joint venture to broadcast full episodes, for free, of certain anime titles on the web. Titles will include Naruto, Samurai Jack, Hikaru No Go, MÄR and The Prince of Tennis. The venture will be called Toonami Jetstream and will premier July 17th. Excellent!

Um, What Did She Say?

Is she implying something about the President? And why is she smiling when she says it?
