This looks like a fun movie: orcs invade a national park and the park rangers have to save the day (at least according to their FB page). Unfortunately, there’s no firm release date. After watching this I’m thinking they should take the plots of almost any zombie movie and replace the zombies with orcs. Could orcs be the new zombie?
Movie summaries can be accurate, but phrased in a way that doesn’t seem to fit what we know or think about the movie. For example, which movie is this: Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again. Think about it. Think hard… Got it? It’s the Wizard of Oz. How about this one: “Disaffected farm boy destroys military installation, killing thousands. Sounds like some Midwestern Department of Homeland Security nightmare, but that’s just Star Wars.
John Scalzi presents a whole list of such accurate but misleading summaries. What can you come up with?
Thank you, io9, for finding these awesome videos. First up, a live action StarBlazers to help me goo over nostalgic for my childhood. Second, an incredibly awesome version of Conan the Barbarian, done as a musical. Enjoy!
Generically speaking, this is the greatest trailer for an Oscar winning movie ever… generically speaking.
Simply put, aixo es : Collonut! …. which in Catalan means…
I’m standing in line for this movie!
HQ version available here. The official site is here though there isn’t much info yet. We have to wait until December 2010 to see this. I’m sure someone over at Viz is working on getting this over here, right? Right?
Via Topless Robot.
Ricardo Autobahn has mashed together a danceable video and song based on clips from a variety of movie and TV shows called The Golden Age of Video. While I wish the audio was a bit clearer in parts, it’s a pretty stunning video to see. How many references can you get?
Thanks to Redge for the link!
Wolverine is an interesting enough character, but in the world of cosplay sometimes things go a little far. Take this guy. He made spring loaded claws that look like they could do some real damage. Possibly to himself. Just check out the video at the link for proof.
Meh. I’ll be really impressed once he figures out how to retract them at will. Then I’ll steal the idea and sell them to X-Men fans for loads of sweet, sweet cash.
I have far too many meetings like this…
