The Golden Age of Video

Ricardo Autobahn has mashed together a danceable video and song based on clips from a variety of movie and TV shows called The Golden Age of Video. While I wish the audio was a bit clearer in parts, it’s a pretty stunning video to see. How many references can you get?

H.P. Lovecraft – 90210

Great. Just effin’ great. For some stupid reason, known only in the depths of R’lyeh, some idiot has decided to capitalize on ol’ HP’s cult popularity in the worst way possible: A TV series full of young buff MAW’s (model / actor / whatever) in Gap clothes and angsty “tween” appealing Twighlight rejects based on Herbert West: The Re-Animator that will somehow weave in all of HP’s stories in a “fresh” and “new” way (if by fresh and new you mean mashing Buffy and Dawson’s Creek together and recycling the 90210 formula – again.)

Mighty Cthulhu, eat my brains now.

Battlestar Galactica Primer

As many of you know, last night was the premier of Season Four of Battlestar Galactica. Salon has put up a pretty good primer on what’s happened in the first three seasons. Reading it I was surprised at just how much the show has covered, and how hard it is to summarize the show. Of interest is the last page of the article which answers a few questions about characters and plot lines.
